Ghost Pictures & their stories. Part 1

I have written a lot of ghost stories, showed haunted buildings, but I realise there are not many pictures of these entities. Here are a few pictures of ghosts & the stories behind them. What you are about to see & read will not only freak you out, but will send shivers down your spine. You may want to leave your light on tonight when you go to bed.

Winchester Cathedral Monks

This picture was featured in a sunday newspaper supplement, family weekly magazine, in 1966. It shows three Monks walking down the aisle of the Abbey. When looking at the picture, it appears as though the Monks are short, but they were actually walking on the original floor, which was heightened in the early 1500’s after the last of many Monks were executed on that very spot, ordered by Henry Viii.

The Electric Chair Ghost.

Is this the ghost of an executed man? The state of Tennessee hired an engineer, Fred Leuchter, to evaluate, modify & update their electric chair. The heavy chair was made from the wood that once belonged to the state’s gallows. Leuchter took photos of the chair in preparation for documenting his progress. When he developed the photo, he noticed several anomalies. Apart from the orb, he could see ghostly images too. The orb maybe easy to explain away. This could be the light above reflecting of the camera lense. The face on the back of the chair could be interesting pareidolia. However, the ghostly hand on the right armrest may not be as easy to explain. This too could be pareidolia, but it’s resemblance to a limp hand in the exact place an executed man’s hand would fall is striking.

White Lady of Worstead Church

This picture was taken in 1975 in Norfolk, UK. The lady in the picture was suffering with an illness & went to church to pray. Her husband took the photo & noticed the White Lady sitting behind her. The White Lady is believed to be a healer, only turning up when someone is in need. She is seen wearing old fashioned clothes & a bonnet & has been seen for over 100 years. Legend has it in 1830, a man set the White Lady a challenge. He said he would climb up to the top of the belfry & kiss her if she showed up. Time passed & he did not return, so his friends decided to go & look for him. When they found him he was curled up in the corner of the belfry, shaking in fear saying ” i saw her”, then he died.

The Pink Lady of Greencastle

These photos were taken by Guy Winters when he & a friend went to investigate the O’Hare mansion in Indiana. The image clearly shows a pink ghostly figure of a woman with a skull like appearance in her face.

The Farm Ghost.

This picture was taken in 2008 at a farm in Hertfordshire, UK. The picture shows what looks like a child, peering round the corner of the house.  The owners of the farm have said they have had several reports of sightings of a  little boy in white.
